Mac is Senior Vice President on Aries/Conlon Capital’s Originations Team. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Chicago, Mac focuses on originating non-recourse bridge and permanent financing for hotel, retail, office, self storage, industrial and multifamily properties nationwide. As the former top originator for one of the country’s largest issuers of SBA loans, he also offers clients specialized expertise in both SBA 504 and 7(a) loans
Mac has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor and a tireless advocate for his clients with over a decade of experience originating, underwriting and closing over $500 million in financing. Before joining Aries/Conlon Capital, Mac led Bank of America’s Midwest SBA platform, overseeing 504 and 7(a) lending. Prior to that position, he worked for ValStone Partners, a private equity fund that focuses on commercial real estate-secured distressed debt, along with hospitality and senior housing development. During his tenure, Mac served on the fund’s investment team that underwrote and structured the acquisition of senior housing properties throughout the country, managed 2,000+ units of stabilized senior housing, and oversaw a strategic leveraging of the firm’s investment portfolio to drive returns. He started his commercial real estate career in the credit area of SomerCor 504, Inc., a Certified Development Company in Chicago, quickly rising to lead originator.

Mac holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics and Entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Through the firm, he is a Club Blue Founding Member of AAHOA, a member of the International Council of Shopping Center (ICSC), the national and Illinois Self Storage Associations and the Real Estate Investment Association of Chicago.
